Latex Printing
Latex Printing from HP and Design to Print
Latex is the printing process for environmentally friendly water-based inks that have high color vibrancy and last long periods of time outdoor. Design to Print is able to print on a wide variety of materials with the Latex printing technology.
HP corporation has been developing Latex ink technology for years. Latex inks are the end result of a $1 billion research and development project to make ink more environmentally safe while actually improving the quality of printing.
Most inks use Solvent or Oil as base "carriers" to get ink pigment onto final printed material. HP realized that a much more VOC friendly carrier could be used, Water. Once the water carrier delivers the pigment to the printed material it is evaporated with heat. The only by product from this printing process is steam.
Latex printing is the newest print technology available on the market. It has the distinction of printing at offset print quality (1200 dpi). Now your large format graphics can be made at the same color gamut and resolution as your business cards, postcards, and brochures.
Durable and High Quality
Latex has all of the quality of offset printing but adds durability. This ink will last for up to 3 years outdoor without any over laminating or post treatments. Essentially graphics printed with Latex are not only the highest resolution, brightest color graphics available today but also are some of the most durable inks available. Look for the Latex print option on most of Design To Prints large format printing products. If you really want the "greenest" graphics available Latex printing is your product.
